More awards for Celynnen Photography!

The last 6 months have a been a successful one for Celynnen Photography! In November we were awarded Best Wedding Photographer in North Wales for the second year in a row at the Welsh National Wedding Awards. Then we were put on the Wedding Industry Experts Honour Roll for 2014 and yesterday we won FOUR AWARDS at the British Institute of Professional Photography‘s North West Region Annual Awards!

Silver in Reportage Wedding Photography

Silver in Classical Wedding Photography

Bronze in Environmental Portraiture

And another Bronze, this time for our Commercial Photography “Branch” Ioan Said Photography, in the Advertising and Commercial Photography Category.

With OVER 400 entries, there are a lots of things to be happy about for us. Firstly 4 of the top ten Reportage Wedding Photography images being from Celynnen Photography images which shows our strength and consistency in truly capturing the day as it happens.

The Silver in Classical Wedding Photography highlights that we know how to pose our clients.

James Russell, The North West Chapter’s Chairman can probably express it better than I can:

” The awards entry was of a particular high standard and the competition for top honours hard fought. The talent within the British Institute of Professional Photography Northwest region has always been strong, amongst the highest in the country, and this year shows that this is still very much the case. Many congratulations to Ioan, his awards were well deserved and showcased his photographic abilities in both commercial and social categories. He and his clients should be very proud.”

You’re probably wanting to see them now so here they are!

Couple laughing at their wedding at Seiont Manor

SILVER – Reportage Wedding Photography – Rhian and Matt laughing together at their wedding in Seiont Manor (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

I love these two. So much so that when their face came up on the screen, I applauded! Others probably thought I was clapping myself!! They are such a happy couple as you can see and are right now touring the world, probably experiencing many more reasons to laugh and smile. Often people ask me what’s my style. I usually say “We do Happy well!” 🙂

Bride reads a letter from her Groom on the morning of their wedding (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

MERIT – Reportage Wedding Photography. Lydia reads a letter from her Tom on the morning of their wedding (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

Loved this wedding! Tom was probably, singlehandedly the most excited and happy groom I’ve ever seen. All day he had this “I WON EURO-MILLIONS” face on him and his speech was full of laughter and tears of joy. He had written a note to Lydia before their celebration near Altringhm. Don’t know what he put in there, but it clearly made Lydia happy. 🙂

MERIT – Reportage Wedding Photography. Amy’s father, proudly walker her down the aisle at her wedding in Plas Newydd in Anglesey (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

Wedding days are filled with little intimate moments. Looks, softly spoken words, that despite the sometimes frantic atmosphere on the day can come and reach you. These are the moments that you’ll remember most and that we are attentive to so we can capture them for you!

MERIT – Reportage Wedding Photography the Nicola and Martin laughing and holding hands during ceremony in the conservatory at Seiont Manor in Caernarfon (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

Another example of “We do happy well”! Nicola was so happy during the ceremony and couldn’t contain her excitement!

SILVER – Classical Wedding Photography. Suzanne and Gareth looking lovingly at each other. Gareth is an officer with the RAF Regiment. (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

One of the reasons why this posed picture worked I think is because even thought it’s posed, we give enough space for our couples to be able to focus on themselves and reflect on their day. Suzanne and Gareth, like many of our couples, later were chosen to model for an editorial we did for Lake Vyrnwy Hotel.

BRONZE – Environmental Portraiture. Summer at the Cottage. Portrait Photography in Anglesey (Ioan Said / Celynnen Photography)

I love this picture. When I took it, i didn’t only want to take a picture of 2 people, but also wanted to capture the atmosphere. I wanted people to “feel” the summer when they say the picture. Glad the judges liked it too! 🙂

So that’s it for the Social Photography side of the awards. The other winning image is on our Commercial Photography website and blog post! So if you like our images generally, and you or your friends are looking for a professional photographer, you know you can trust the Celynnen Photography quality!

PS: If your picture is featured you will soon be receiving a little thank you gift, so keep an eye out! 🙂
