Our first wedding of the spring was Kirsty and Lloyd's beautiful wedding in the Lake District's Cote How, a gorgeous wedding venue perfect for intimate weddings!
Despite the rain and bad weather we had that week, the sun shone on their wedding and everyone was all smiles! I fact how smiley Kirsty and Lloyd were on their wedding is definitely one of the defining memories of the day for me! They were a very fun couple to work with! There were a few tears on the day of course, with the groom getting a bit emotional when he saw his beautiful bride coming down the aisle!
Here's how the wedding went according to Kirsty and Lloyd. Don't forget to scroll all the way down for the vendors list!
"Having been engaged for almost 5 years, the anticipation of finally waking up on the big day and getting to say 'we're getting married today' was so exciting!
When the day finally arrived, we were overwhelmed with a mixture of emotions. It was such a whirlwind, planning and worrying about all the details, Lloyd was setting out and getting everything done on the morning before everyone came. Then rushing to get ready, starting to greet everyone and mingle before the ceremony, it was such a rush that the contrast of waiting at the altar felt like an eternity!
We were so worried about the weather, with it being April and snowing the day before, luckily the snow and rain held off. The sun was shining all day and some of our guests even got sunburn.
Seeing each other at Cote How all dressed up with the beautiful flowers and decorations made everything real, plus all of our guests looking so happy for us made the wait worthwhile.
We were both overcome with emotion and couldn't help crying, making many of our guests cry as well! We had a few surprises during the day which were fantastic - the RAF jets made an appearance and did a low fly over just as we were finishing our vows and had our first kiss as Husband and Wife.
Everything came together as we had planned and we were so proud of each other. The day itself was fantastic, all of the tiny details we had focused on, plus, having made most of the decorations ourselves it was such a lovely feeling having people complimenting what we had spent so long putting together.
The band were outstanding, we had the 2 piece for the daytime, piano and bass, joined by a drummer for the evening. It worked so well and gave the day the right atmosphere, it made everything else come together and feel right
The day went by in the blink of an eye, we loved every minute of it, even if I was absolutely terrified walking down the aisle and seeing my Husband cry with happiness. We would love to relive the day (without the planning and stress of course). We do have all of the beautiful photos to look back on to help us relive our day."
