Hooray! This year is going to be fourth year running that Celynnen Photography has been nominated for the Welsh National Wedding Awards in Swansea. Of those we have won best wedding photographer in North Wales twice, in 2012 and 2013 respectively, and we hope to make this year a third.
This year has been a really cool year for us. We have had the pleasure of being featured by Kodak Moments UK as well as a great many other honours. We have had our images published, with even more to come soon, in Wedding Ideas Magazine, as well as having great weddings that took us all across Cheshire and North Wales. Another brilliant thing is that we have won a merit from the British Institute of Professional Photography for our Reportage wedding photography. Considering how strict the awards were this year, I was REALLY made up with that! Also, we are also the only photographer in North Wales who is part of Fearless Photographers, a highly selective international directory of internationally appraised photographers whose work is bold and engaging.
We are incredibly grateful that we have been able to make this year’s short list for the Welsh National Wedding Awards again, despite us not even realising the closing date until it was so close to the end. It is thanks to our amazing clients that we are back here again.
We have won awards in both classical, and reportage, wedding photography, and that was really important to us because it shows we are able to capture all the little moments of your day, in the background, as well as deliver beautiful portraits of everyone looking at their best. Beside the fact we’re renown for our customer centred approach, another thing that we’re known for is for our individualism. We don’t follow the trends. If one year the trend was spot colouring, we wouldn’t follow that trend, but rather, we always aim to provide timeless, quality images that last, rather than ones artificially aged by a computer processes. When people look at the pictures, we want them think “what a beautiful picture!”, rather than think it was the fashionable way to do pictures that year.
This year is also our first anniversary of being elected to the British Institute of Professional Photography’s (BIPP) committee in the North West, which was another great honour for me because normally my clients recommend me, but now my peers are also recommending me within the North West. My role, besides helping out with social media, has also been to support other photographers and try to aid them with their business and encourage them to work through qualification within the British Institute of Professional Photography. I think it is so important that photographers go for this because, contrarily to other commercial organisations, the BIPP is a non-profit organization, it provides quality training, great networking and because it can be so hard for people to find good photographers, it is beneficial in terms of the client’s confidence to know that they are actually dealing with somebody who has effectively gone through a professional vetting process.
But we couldn’t have done it without our lovely couples who have voted for us, so THANK YOU ALL who have chosen Celynnen Photography, not only this year but since the beginning! Big hugs!
Later this week we will feature some of the weddings we have had this year so keep an eye on the blog!
