WELCOME TO OUR NEW BLOG!
Very excited to be able to share Laura and Raul's wedding at Tower Hill Barns, Llangollen, our first since the completion of the renovations. One of the most beautiful wedding barn venues in North Wales, it offers amazing views and a unique space for outdoor wedding ceremonies!

This is what Laura had to say about getting married at Tower Hill Barns:

We cannot recommend Tower Hill Barns enough. The venue is beautiful – a Welsh countryside setting with the renovated barn, which has floor to ceiling windows. I really liked that we could hold our reception in the same venue as our ceremony, as there was no stress with getting people to and from venues and no one was waiting around for us while we were having photos taken, they simply grabbed a sangria! Everything was very relaxed and the staff were super friendly – nothing was too much trouble and they were very flexible, allowing us to make a lot of the decisions to ensure our day was unique to us."

The wedding itself, like the venue, was amazing! Laura was wearing a beautiful Ronald Joyce, “Estella” dress she bought at from a bridal shop in Shrewsbury called Severn Brides while Raul looked elegant in his suit from Groom in Chester. The preps were done in a bed and breakfast in nearby Llangollen called Cornerstones Guesthouse and the excitement was palpable the moment I walked into the room. The bridesmaids were amazing and totally there for their bride. Sounds obvious but it makes a massive difference when the bridesmaids are their entirely to support the bride in whatever she wants to do.

When we arrived for the wedding ceremony at Tower Hill Barns, a guitarist, Ed Peczek, was waiting under the bridge playing some beautiful music in the sun. It's like our Spanish guests had brought the weather with them!

The flowers came from ‘Wild’ based in Chester which I've recommended a few times.

The couple chose to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd on their big day.

TOP WEDDING TIPS from the bride:

For Brides – Trust other people to help. I was a bit of a perfectionist when it came to planning our wedding, but I think once you have the plans in your head and know what you want, letting other people in on the secrets of the day makes it much more enjoyable!

For Grooms – Get involved in the planning process…we know there are some things that you aren’t interested in and we don’t expect you to create a Pinterest board, but there are important decisions to make and it’s better if you know what to expect on the day! Raul decided his areas of expertise were the music and the honeymoon, plus of course…the food!

For keeping to the budget – Firstly, set one! We had an idea of what we could spend and yes we did go slightly over what we thought, but we made sure we spent on the things that were really important to us. There are always going to be hidden costs and things that you just don’t think about at the beginning, but if there is something you can live without e.g. a wedding car, then that’s a step towards saving some money! The main way we cut costs was by doing a lot of DIY!
