I'm VERY excited about this blog post! One of my mates is going on the Great British Menu!
We met in 2011 when I did a shoot for a magazine who was featuring different businesses in Anglesey. They sent me to The Marram Grass which at the time was little more than a shed in a caravan park. So there, I'll say it: I DISCOVERED THE MARRAM GRASS! ;)
But even then, in it's original state, I knew this was going to work and for 2 main reasons: Liam and Ellis. Their energy, their talent and the welcome you received instantly made you want to come back...and so we have ever since!
The boys know of most of my pre-wedding shoots on Newborough beach, because I make it an obligatory stop for lovely lunch! I also take all foreign visitors and sometimes, I just make an excuse to turn up and they always make sure I feel welcomed, even if it often means a meal at the bar as I forgot to book (now you REALLY need to book!) They've gone from strenght to strenght, with lots of changes to the building , appearances in The Good Food Guide, appearance in Hidden Restaurants with Michel Roux, and his well deserved Acorn award, I'm really proud of them and I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two very promising young people, who took a shed on a caravan site and turned it into a beacon of excellence in food, sustainability, training and soon, a wedding venue! (But yeah, I saw them first!) ;)
PS: Here is one of the pictures I took back in the day. How young do they look!? :D
