One of the first questions we get from people looking for a wedding photographer and one you often see in wedding magazines is:
Describe your wedding photography style!

Now, we recently won Documentary Wedding Photographer of the Year (see how I got that in) ;) but really when asked, it's really simple: We do happy well.

We just love capturing happiness. Excited brides and groom who simply can't wait to get married (and to party, and go on honeymoon...)

This blog post is about Mike and Emma's wedding in Portmeirion and there sure was a lot of smiling going on that day! Another thing which made it really special was all the personal touches that were added by friends and family.

The ceremony was at a beautiful church in Llanbedrog where we've worked before and which I love because it's so beautiful and we always get a great welcome! Emma looked gorgeous in her Pronovias wedding dress!

Then, the celebrations moved to Portmeirion, a gorgeous Italianate village which gives the feel of a Destination Wedding abroad, all while being just around the corner here in North Wales.

Here is what Mike and Emma said about their big day:
"After a lot of planning and preparation (and having to move from North Wales to South Wales and then back again!) when the day of our wedding finally arrived we were both incredibly excited. We got married at Emma’s local church in Llanbedrog, just around the corner from where she grew up and where her dad was born. Emma’s parents had been at school with the Vicar and these close family ties to the church helped make the setting even more intimate and special.

Our families were really involved in the preparation for the wedding; from helping collect sloe berries for home-made sloe gin wedding favours, my mum making the wedding cake and my sister and sister-in-law decorating it, to decorating the church the day before the wedding it really was a family affair!

From early on in our relationship we had been to Portmeirion a few times and had very special memories of it and it had always been our dream wedding venue. On the day everything went even better than we could have hoped for and it really was perfect. The only negative was that the day went by so fast!
